We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager to join our client's offices based in Watford on a temporary contract basis for 8 months with the possibility of an extension. The client is looking for someone to start ASAP, working full time, 37 hours per week at £22.72 - £24.81 p/h PAYE.

As the Project Manager, your main duties will include:

  • Manage and support delivery of a range of projects across the organisation with agreed timescales and within budget
  • Monitor, manage and report on all of the Community Protection revenue and capital budgets and other project budgets as appropriate
  • Develop specification and tender related documents and manage the procurement process in line with Council policies and procedures
  • Development of and/or adaptation of databases and other reporting arrangements to facilitate delivery of required activities and/or the general running of the service
  • To undertake any duties within the function of Community and Environmental Services as required by the Group Head or The Head of Community Protection, such as recruitment and managing email folders

To be successful for this Project Manager post you will need to have:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
  • Qualified to Prince 2 Practitioner level or other suitable professional qualification or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrable knowledge of project management approaches and delivery methods
  • Experience of project development, business planning and accessing different funding streams to support project delivery.
  • Experience of tendering and procurement processes
  • Experience of financial management
  • Ability to be a highly motivated team player with the skills and ability to manage changing priorities
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • High level of political and personal sensitivity
  • Ability to use initiative, but recognise when risks or issues need escalation
  • Experience of training, coaching and mentoring colleagues
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Office applications, include Word, Project, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
  • Excellent administrative, organisational and problem solving skills
