A 5 month+ opportunity for a Project Manager (Connectivity and Smart Cities) has arisen with the local authorities in Southwark.

The client is looking for a project manager who is an all rounder - digital experience not essential. The role would suit someone with an economic development/ regeneration/capital projects background and someone who has experience working with public sector organisations. The candidate will need to demonstrate that they are a self-starter and an interest in improving council processes. The candidate should demonstrate a good grasp of data.

The project manager will manage a wide range of connectivity and smart cities projects. The role will continue the work we have undertaken improving broadband and mobile connectivity. The team is starting to work on developing use cases of smart technology to collect data and digitalise services.

Purpose of the job

The Project Manager sits within the Digital Infrastructure Team, which is responsible for connectivity and smart city initiatives

The Project Manager is responsible for managing and delivering complex and multiple projects simultaneously. This includes planning, mobilisation, implementation, transition to live and management of project resources

The post holder will ensure that projects are delivered within financial, quality and scope constraints and they are also responsible for project reporting and the production of all project-related artefacts.

The post holder reports to the Digital Infrastructure Programme Manager.

Rate of Pay

£ 250 - £310 per day (depending on experience)
