Our client is seeking a Interim Procurement Officer on an initial 9 month contract with the possibility of an extension.

Working Hours:

37 Hours per week

Monday - Friday

Pay Rate:

£196.72 a day

Job Purpose:

To provide a procurement service with the aim of delivering effective and compliant contracts to the Council and provide proactive advice and assistance to commissioners, as well as delivering continuous improvements in service delivery, contract compliance and reduced expenditure within the supply chain.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Work with commissioners to develop appropriate procurement strategies and supporting the sourcing and award of procurement arrangements which effectively deliver the key business requirements, whilst maintaining full compliance with all EU Procurement Regulations, the Council's Financial Regulations, Council policies and best practice processes.

Co-ordinate and action tender processes by acting as key point of expertise during the tender process, preparing and agreeing tender documentation, undertaking tender evaluations, negotiating contract terms and preparing recommendation reports.

Assist in the management of risks associated with the procurement of goods and services including contract management.

Assist in all aspects of procurement activity including the preparation of tender documentation, the evaluation of bids, completion of scorecards and other post- tender documentation.

Undertake procurement activity that is compliant with UK/EU legislation and Council regulations.

Engage with the market and suitable potential suppliers, ensure appropriate competition and procure services that meet the business needs of the Council and support overall project goals, whilst mitigating contractual risk.

Establish, monitor and maintain effective contracts.
