A 3 months+ opportunity for a Head of Public Affairs and Relations has arisen with the local authorities in Leeds.

Job Overview:

Develop and Lead a full range Public Relations (PR) & Public Affairs (PA) services that manage and shape the CA's reputation and promotes awareness and understanding, externally, of our values, achievements, policies, responsibilities, services, brands, activities and impact. To advise and inform the CA and its employees on all matters relating to PR/PA opportunities especially nationally and national and international guidelines.

Advise and provide briefings for the CA Chairman, CA District Leaders and Chief Executives, Committee Chairs, senior politicians, Directors, Assistant Directors and managers on PR/PA issues, obtained intelligence and insight findings ensuring the views of the CA are accurately and appropriately reflected.

Ensure the CA websites are appropriate, accessible, user-focused and in line with the desired projection of message, image and brand that we are seeking to portrays to the public and stakeholder audiences nationally and beyond.

Oversee the management of PR/PA campaigns, specific PR/PA orientated programmes & Departments, and establishing and maintaining profile for key long-term projects in partnership with District Communications teams, maintaining the strategic Communications and PA focus and liaison with all teams and departments across the CA

Skills and Experience:

  • Educated to Degree level with relevant qualification in marketing, PR or communications, or equivalent experience.
  • Chartered Institute of Public Relations and Chartered Institute of Marketing membership.
  • Extensive practical experience of successfully performing in a similar role.
  • Willingness to work in a covid-safe office environment in central Leeds.

Hours of work are 9am till 5pm, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
