To provide an efficient and effective local estate management service, including caretaking, cleaning, maintenance, and supervision of contractors. Visual fire safety inspections to blocks of flats across the Council's stock and completing or reporting remedial actions as necessary.

Check fire alarms and carry out visual checks and actions required on communual lighting in all blocks as required, in compliance with health and safety guidelines.

Complete inspections to all blocks after a fire alarm activation, meeting contractors on site as appropriate and organising remedial works. Take responsibility for ensuring completion of works, detailing and recording all actions completed.

Complete daily fire safety inspections to communal areas in high rise blocks and regular & frequent fire safety inspections in medium and low rise blocks. Update records detailing work completed and remedial actions required

Monitor contractors providing estate services, including window cleaning, communual cleaning, grounds maintenance etc, inpecting materials and standards of work to ensure compliance with the relevant specifications. Take appropriate action to resolve problems.

Check the security of Council property on estates, such as electric cupboards and dri-risers etc , taking appropriate and immediate action to resolve problems. Carry out emergency cleaning where appropriate in communal areas.

Work in close liason with housing officers and the wider landlord services team to ensure delivery of a customer focussed service with the aim of resolving queries at the first point of contact. Ensure any breaches of tenancy are highlighted to housing officers, assisting in follow up inspections and remedial works.

The post holder will be required to work on a rota covering 7 days a week in order to meet the needs of the service.

The post holder will be expected to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service and may, from time to time, be expected to work unsociable hours, including evenings, in addition to the requirement to regularly work weekends and bank holidays.

The post holder will be required to perform other such duties as appropriate to the qualifications, experience and salary band as may be reasonably required.

The post holder will be responsible for ensuring their own health and safety.

The post holder will be expected to comply with Council policy at all times including in relation to their responsibilities for safeguarding and promoting equality.

The post holder will be expected to adopt and work in accordance with the Council's values

The post holder is required to wear a work uniform and protective clothing whilst on duty.
