A 6 months+ opportunity for an Energy Assessor Surveyor has arisen with the local authorities in Cambridge.

You will be required to undertake SAP assessments and calculations whils undertaking independent domestic and commercial building energy audits.

Deal with utility metering and billing enquiries and maintain the database of metered and unmetered supplies; manage electricity and gas removals. Prepare data for the annual greenhouse gas report.

Ensure EPC certificates and Retrofit Assessments are provided for City Council properties as required.

Set up and operate an automatic metering system for solar PV installations installed on Council properties (on quarterly basis) to ensure Feed in Tariffs and exported energy income is received and accounted for correctly.

Assist in the identification of new capital projects, prepare scheme appraisals that describe the work, prepare budget costs and prioritise when the work is needed.

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience delivering Energy Efficiency projects particularly in housing.
  • Be able to work both independently and as part of a team Good financial and computer literacy skills, including use of MS Excel. Requires personal qualities include a practical approach, a positive attitude, punctuality, and sensitivity whilst working in occupied homes Good Standard of health (some climbing of ladders, access to roofs/confined spaces etc.)
  • Be familiar with building services and mechanical and electrical installations Understand environmental design principles and building physics Awareness of and compliance with Health and Safety legislation and policy as relevant to the post.
  • Good working knowledge of energy modelling including asset and operational ratings/assessments, UK energy and sustainability policy framework and legislation, Building Regulations.

At least 2 days per week site based, hours of work are 9am till 5pm, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
