A 3 Month+ opportunity for a Countryside Warden has arisen within the local authorities in Derbyshire.

Job Purpose

To provide support in relation to the provision of high quality and effective Countryside Services in Derbyshire including minor site improvement works and ensuring cleanliness and safety of facilities.

Key Relationships

  • Responsible to the designated site supervisor
  • Supervision of volunteers.
  • To provide information and assistance to the public, local landowners, tenants, contractors and external agencies.

Key Results Area Include

  • Undertake duties supporting the day to day operation and management of sites and facilities (including canals) to the agreed standard of the Countryside Service
  • Provide information and assistance to colleagues, other councils, countryside bodies, private companies and the public.
  • Undertake minor site improvement works under the direction of line manager
  • Investigate, analyse and provide practical solutions to routine problems found on sites and facilities
  • Assist with the delivery of access, conservation and environmental improvement across Derbyshire County Council's countryside sites.

Person Profile

  • Experience in giving information and assistance to the public
  • Assist with the delivery of access, conservation and environmental improvement across Derbyshire County Council's countryside sites.
  • Working with, supervising and motivating volunteers
  • Management of land for recreation and conservation
  • Awareness of current environmental issues affecting the countryside
  • NVQ level 2 landscape and ecosystems or related subject
  • OND or higher in countryside management or related subject
  • A minimum of one year equivalent relevant experience relating to countryside sites and facilities

Rate of pay

PAYE: £10.21

Umbrella: £12.71

Hours of work are 9am till 5pm, Monday to Friday.
