We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Support Manager to join our clients offices based in Kensington on a temporary contract basis for 3 months with the possibility of an extension.

As the Business Support Manager, your main duties will include:

  • To be responsible for budget/financial monitoring for the service
  • To assist the team and managers to manage the children's placement budget and meet performance targets relating to the placement of LAC, utilising management information as required
  • To be responsible for budget/financial monitoring for the service
  • To provide practical support to the Strategic Placements and Planning Manager and the Placements Team to enable them to function effectively.
  • To be responsible and act as the representative for delivering communications to external and external stakeholders on behalf of the Placements Team
  • To work in a small team serving 3 councils (Kensington and Chelsea, Westminster, Hammersmith and Fulham) sourcing private and voluntary placements for children 0 - 25 in a range of settings including Foster care, Residential children homes, Residential Schools and Semi-Independence units

To be successful for this Business Support Manager post you will need to have:

  • Evidence of relevant training/professional development
  • Previous experience of administrative services and demonstrable knowledge of administrative procedures and when to apply them.
  • Substantial experience and evidenced ability in a range of administrative tasks, such as diary management, arranging meetings, payments, filing and information retrieval (electronic and paper) and minute taking.
  • Ability to line manage and deploy staff appropriately to meet needs of the service
  • Highly organised: demonstrable ability of managing a broad portfolio of activities, multi-tasking, use of initiative, problem solving, working independently and prioritising workloads; and the ability to be resilient in a pressurised environment subject to tight deadlines and conflicting priorities.
  • Evidenced ability in budgeting, analysing financial and management information and developing support services on a value for money basis.
  • Advanced computer skills and substantial experience in using the full range of Microsoft Office applications (especially MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word) and the ability to pick up and learn new systems and software when required.
  • An understanding of the current and future issues facing local government and other partners, as well as an awareness of departmental priorities to ensure the successful contribution of the service to delivery and implementation of projects.

Monday - Friday

Pay Rate-

£18.65 p/h
