Our client is seeking a Av Technician for an initial 3 month contract with the possibility of an extension.

Working Hours:

36 Hours per week

Monday - Friday

Pay Rate:

£13.03 p/h

Job Purpose:

The Audio Visual Technician will support the Audio Visual Manager in the delivery of all Audio Visual services and Willesden Green Cultural Centre which includes the following service areas (but is not limited to):

  • Administration Areas
  • Customer Services, Registration and Nationalities, Libraries and other public services
  • Conference and Events
  • Training Centre
  • Public Areas/ Public performance/exhibition areas
  • Public Information Systems

This Position will entail weekend, evening and bank holiday working and overtime when required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the Audio Visual Manager in maintaining testing and servicing all Audio Visual equipment (including maintaining licences, software upgrades etc.) within Brent Civic Centre/Willesden Green Cultural Centre and for event services including maintaining service records and inventories. Ensure daily, weekly, monthly and ad-hoc testing is carried out across all areas.
  • Independently supervise and/or assist in the coordination and delivery of a wide range of small and large scale, Audio Visual services for internal and external events to the highest standard - this may include running client presentations and managing Audio Visual content for events using various multi media through to coordinating lighting and sound for large productions. This includes testing, checking and ensuring all equipment is operable, safe and secure, prior to any meetings or events.
  • Training and mentoring an apprentice to become an Audio Visual Technician.
  • The Audio Visual Technician will be required to set-up, operate and troubleshoot both sound and lighting equipment and be confident working with the following equipment (but not limited to): Crestron, Public-I Webcasting, Avolites Tiger Touch, Yamaha LS9, Sennheiser EW100 and IT systems. There will also be times when the technician will be expected to advise on staging and production design ideas to meet client requirements.
  • Obtain quotes for Audio Visual services from external Audio Visual suppliers when required for both internal and external clients always ensuring that they get the best quote in terms of service, value and quality for the event.
  • Ensure risk assessments for all AV set-ups are completed and ensure suppliers provide all relevant documentation in order to carry out work at Brent Civic Centre and Willesden Green Cultural Centre - this includes drawing up Permits to Work for Management sign-off when required.
  • Manage the helpdesk ensuring all faults/service requests are responded to in a timely manner. Locating faults or problems and finding solutions for immediate fix and long term fixes to ensure minimal disturbance.
  • Create detailed reports on all AV in meeting rooms outlining any issues.
  • Manage any event related administration including managing the AV inbox, producing internal quotes, technical briefs for support staff and post-event reporting.
  • Manage internal and external equipment bookings.
  • Provide Cover for the Audio Visual Manager as and when required.
  • Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility and all employees are required to act in such a way that at all times safeguards the health and well being of children and vulnerable adults.
  • Carry out duties with due regard to the council's customer care, equal opportunities, information governance, data protection and health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Undertake any other duties commensurate with the general level of responsibility of this post.
