We have an exciting opportunity for an Approved Mental Health Professional to join our clients offices based in Newbury on a temporary contract basis for 4 months with the possibility of an extension.

As the Approved Mental Health Professional, your main duties will include:

  • To work to the Health and Care Professions Council Code of Practice.
  • To work with a number of long term complex difficult cases and their carers as allocated by the Team Lead or AMHP/Forensic Lead.
  • To contribute to the self-directed support process in the following ways: assessing social needs for eligibility under the Care Act 2014 completing, preparing and submitting these to funding panels for both health and social care.
  • To assist service users and carers to set up their support package where specific input from a social worker is required.
  • To ensure that service users are safeguarded by implementing Council and national procedures for Safeguarding and Mental Capacity Act throughout the self-directed support process and by fulfilling the role of investigating officer into allegations of abuse as required.

To be successful for this Approved Mental Health Professional post will need to have:

  • Knowledge of self directed support process/personalisation/personal budgets.
  • Knowledge of Personal Budget process operating in Adult Social Care e.g. SAQ/RAS/Support Planning.
  • Knowledge of national legislation including, Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, DoLs, BIA etc.
  • Knowledge of Health and Social Care services, private and voluntary services.
  • Knowledge of Safeguarding Adults procedures.
  • Experience of working in Mental health for at least two years.
  • Knowledge of Health and Social Care services, private and voluntary services.
  • Knowledge of national legislation including, Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, DoLs, BIA etc.
  • Knowledge of Safeguarding Adults procedures.
  • 2 Years written referencing (all gaps verified0.
  • Driving licence.

Start Date: ASAP

Working Hours: 15 Hours per week, Tuesday - Thursday

Pay Rate: £260.00 per day
